Step 2: Developing the Skeleton, Part I

Continuing our series on grant writing, Step 2 in the process is developing the skeleton proposal or template.

⏺ Write a 1/2 page organizational summary. Outline WHO you are WHAT you do and WHY.

⏺ Write the needs statement. This is a narrative about what is wrong, what problem needs to be solved, what gaps exist in the community. Hit the head using data and research that identifies the problem and hit the heart with a story or personal account that shows the need. (This section is laying the groundwork for offering the funder your solution.)

⏺ Write the proposed solution. Offer your solution to the identified program including what outcomes you hope to achieve and how you are going to achieve them. Think objectives, goals, actionable steps to accomplish the proposed outcome.
