A FIRM FOUNDATION
Tensions are high right now. Times of challenge and testing reveal who we are and what we are made of. So who are you? Who do you strive to be?
Every organization needs a strong foundation. We need to know in times of trial that we can stand firm, but we can only stand on a foundation that has been built. The strategic framework is the foundation of nonprofits and businesses. If you haven't identified the key components of a strategic framework, now is the time. Consider this:
*Core values are mandates; they are not mere considerations. Core values are the WHO behind the DO. Know WHO you are and hold your team accountable to walk out the core values of the organization. Core values do not change with current trends. They are the essence of what you value and who you strive to be regardless of how popular the values are.
*Policy statements outline HOW you operate. They are non-negotiables. Policies are self-imposed mandates that drive how you treat others and how your internal structure works.
*Mission and vision outline and define the lane you are in and the problem you are trying to solve. Revisit these often. Stay focused and on task. Ensure you aren't drifting or distracted by circumstances or challenges.
*Strategic priorities drive the tasks. Make sure the strategic priorities are clearly defined, promoted to the whole team and the daily grind is tied to achieving those tasks.
Difficult times and challenging circumstances remind us to dig in and stay rooted. As we start this new week, evaluate your foundational principles and stay focused on the work at hand. Need help? Reach out. We are here to help.
