Why do we procrastinate?

Excuses.

We all have them and are guilty of using them. What makes us not get-'er-done? Why do we procrastinate and force ourselves into the excuse corner? What do we needlessly put off until tomorrow? Check this list. What's familiar....?

  • I was going to but....

  • It is on my list.

  • I didn't get a chance to...

  • I was getting to that next.

  • Yeah, but...

Stop needlessly procrastinating. Stop with the excuses. Do it when it needs to be done. How?

✔️ Schedule it. Not everything is urgent -- some things CAN wait. When a to-do crosses your desk and it's not urgent, schedule the task to be done.

✔️ Prioritize the urgent and important. Stop prioritizing tasks by preference (those tasks you enjoy or prefer doing) and prioritize instead by need.

✔️ Ask for help. If you are overwhelmed, confused, not sure what is most important or how to accomplish a task, ask.

Let's commit in 2025 to better discipline our time, commit to lay off the excuses and increase our productivity. Cheers to a productive New Year!
