Working in the field of community development…
…is challenging. Most days I take that challenge on and enjoy it. Today I'm overwhelmed with stories of turmoil both domestically and abroad.
You can feel it in the air, right? Tension, unsettling dissonance. It's palatable but invisible. A strange state of being. While we struggle with the shift in atmosphere, I remain committed not to be distracted but to move forward courageously. I invite you to do the same. This is the time to grow deep and remember the foundation on which my life and work are built.
Note to self: One day at a time. One step at a time. Embrace vision, mission and core values. These are the building blocks of a foundation - personally and organizationally. The path has been set, Mindy, now take the next step. Keep your eyes on the goal. Set your mind on the bigger purpose.
Challenging times test our limits. It's when we get to see what we're made of. Today at CDP we will continue plans to house more people and serve those experiencing homelessness -- because everyone deserves a place to live safely. We will continue to strengthen nonprofits -- for they are needed now more than ever. We will fulfill our commitment to train up entrepreneurs here and afar in creative and innovative ways. We will continue to develop and encourage community partners to tackle challenges in their respective communities. We will not be distracted. We will remember the importance of the work and what we've been called to do.
Living on purpose for His purpose.
For those who feel like they are struggling for breath and walking on shifting sand, I urge you to strengthen your roots and build a foundation that has meaning and purpose. We can withstand these current times but we cannot do it alone. Reach out. We are here to help.
