Assess. Plan. Implement.
We teach and preach and tell and ask and even beg and plead for nonprofits to get organized, get funded and strengthen the organization to build toward long-term sustainability. Nonprofits are critical to the health of our communities, and if we are going to have communities where everyone can thrive, then we need a robust nonprofit sector. Building a strong nonprofit is not the fun, exciting or rewarding side of mission work, but it is critical and necessary for nonprofit survival and community impact
When it comes down to it, CDP has a simple formula. Assess. Plan. Implement.
π Assess. Assess how healthy the organization is against best practice standards in all areas of the nonprofit business -- from legalities to resource development to strategic planning to program impact. There are several tools available to measure performance. For the remainder of January, we are offering CDP's organizational assessment FREE to nonprofits. You can take that here: t.ly/fIa6C. No obligation, just a free evaluation to see how your nonprofit is doing.
π Plan. Outline a strategy in areas where you struggle or are less-rooted. Remember, if it's not in writing it doesn't exist, so get your plan in writing and start working to build toward health and wellness in your nonprofit.
π Implement. A beautiful strategy that sits on a shelf accomplishes nothing. Ensure your written plan has a timeline for completing actionable tasks and a person responsible for each element of the strategy. Implement what has been planned and monitor progress over time. Hold those charged with tasks accountable for completing them on time with excellence.
