Community Leadership

One of the staples many local communities enjoy is a leadership program through the local chamber of commerce. Leadership development and relationship-building are often two key goals of these programs. If you find yourself part of a leadership program, or other networking initiative or civic club, consider answers to these three questions:

1. What can I contribute? You have experience, education, perspective, skills and talents that others can benefit from. Think about what you can offer those in the group and be intentional about contributing to the growth and experience of others.

2. What can I learn? Where do you struggle or feel you need more knowledge? What experience do others have that would be helpful for you to glean from? Look for opportunities to learn from those participating alongside you.

3. Who can I know? Intentional relationship-building is critical to business growth and personal development. Look for those individuals you would like to know. Participation and/or membership in groups and clubs provides opportunity to build unique #connections and memories.

Every interaction, every meeting, and every group interaction offers opportunity to give something, get something and know someone. Let's be intentional in how we use these moments with others.
