Food for Thought…

Strive to live a life of honor. Honor isn't something we talk much about anymore. I think most people would agree that being honorable, is well, honorable, but living a life of high respect and adherence to doing what is right isn't necessarily a goal to which everyone strives. So should we choose to think more about living honorably, let's consider this:

1. Work diligently in private. Work hard to become who it is you want to be. Read, study, be disciplined. Study the life of those you see as honorable and observe what that looks like for your own life. Set a plan and make it happen. Day-by-day, in private is where you put in the hours and work to achieve your goals of who you want to be.

2. Be humble in public. Avoid the tendency to seek the spotlight. A life of honor rarely involves self-promotion.

3. Behave what you believe. This is where your actions meet your character. A life of honor includes the idea that who you represent yourself to be equals who you are. If you are working hard in private to become an honorable person, then act like it. If your actions fall short of what they should be, see #1 above and spend some time becoming an honorable person.
