National Entrepreneur Day!

It's National Entrepreneur Day! Entrepreneurs should be celebrated. Ingenuity. Creative thinking. Problem solving. These are key attributes of entrepreneurs that should be celebrated.

Many posts will pop up over the next couple of weeks to encourage you to celebrate entrepreneurship with your dollars by shopping local on Small Business Saturday. You should. Many posts will highlight the importance of small business to our communities and local economies. That's true. But small business does not survive on good intentions, warm fuzzies or one day shopping. Entrepreneurs in your local community need more than your cheers and well wishes. Small business thrives when we make it part of our routine and normalized through our everyday shopping habits.

This National Entrepreneur Day let's give some critical and intentional thought as to how we can change our shopping habits to support local. Let's commit to making “shop small” more than a mantra.
