Two immediate and impactful strides you can make for your business: (1) Become a networker and (2) get over the fear of public speaking.

There are many options for networking groups. Find one that works for you. (I am a member of BNI.) Find one where you can meet new people that become persons you can know, like and trust. Business is about relationships and we need to always be intentional about building them. Find networking opportunities that encourage relationship-building not just transactional, small talk events.

Get over your fear of speaking to small and large groups. It is one of the primary roadblocks to success for professionals. Toastmasters or a similar group is likely available within a short drive from you. Find a chapter (toastmasters.org) and commit to moving past the fear. It will be life-changing for you personally and professionally.

I am not a natural networker and I do not enjoy public speaking, but I recognize the value both bring to business and I took the plunge. If you aren't conquering these two areas, today is your day to begin.
