Integrity Checklist

#Integrity. It's one of those words that gets thrown around a bunch. I suspect we all want to BE SEEN as having integrity but too few of us put in the hard work to actually BE integrous. So what does it mean for an organization to have integrity?
Consider this checklist:

✔ Transparency. No hidden agendas. No hidden reports. No hidden data. Organizations with integrity do not conceal facts or gloss over shortcomings. Organizations with integrity do not keep information from peers, leaders or community partners. Transparent organizations are open with their data, their finances and their impact.

✔ Consistency. Consistency means the narrative doesn't change from person to person or partner to partner or funder to funder. An organization with integrity is constant, unchanging and unwavering in how it stands on its core values and how it reports its mission and methods, no matter the audience.

✔ Honesty. Honesty is telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. An organization with integrity prohibits lying or embellishing or exaggerating. Integrity doesn't tolerate half-stories or misrepresenting facts to create a less-than-honest picture of what is true.

Integrity is worth striving for but it is not easily attained. Check yourself on these attributes and see how you measure up. Commit to spend your energy and time being true to your mission, vision and core values and BEING the great organization you want people to believe you are.
