Lessons from Linda Kimble

Lessons from Linda Kimble. Today is her birthday. She is celebrating today in her heavenly home. I miss her greatly.

As I reflect on her this day, there are some key lessons I learned from her. Here are a few:

🗝 Pursue passion. Find your calling and pursue it relentlessly. Linda was a scholar, an advocate and an achiever. She was passionate about helping the marginalized and disenfranchised and she made her life's vocation out of pursuit of her passion.

🗝 Count the cost then go for it. Linda took calculated risks. She always asked the questions and scouted the territory before moving forward. She took risks but always after taking the time to ensure the work could be accomplished with excellence.

🗝 Life is a journey. Linda loved and lived life to the fullest. She never was too focused on the end result that she didn't enjoy the journey. I laughed and cried with her more than I have with anyone else. She taught me to appreciate the days as they come.

🗝 People over task. While Linda was an achiever and accomplished so much, she always put people over task. She allowed disruptions. She showed care and concern even when a deadline loomed. She was never too busy to take a call or meet a presenting need.

🗝 Jesus first. She and I had many conversations about our faith and the One who gives purpose and passion. I miss most our deep conversations and shared pursuit of who Jesus is and how to be His hands and feet.

Linda is an example of a life well lived. May you have friends like her that push you, share life with you and help you be the person you were created to be. Happy birthday, dear friend.
